About Us

A warm welcome

We are a small village club which aspires to play competitive, friendly games in a fun atmosphere encompassing some different levels of ability.

Usually in doubles but also singles. We are very happy for people to come and play for a month or so before deciding to join.

History

The club evolved out of a badminton group which played in the Tapestry Hall of the historic building “The Tapestries” on Straight Rd.

One of the founder members was Frans Engels, who incidentally was responsible for introducing the game of Korf Ball from Holland to the UK – now played by mixed teams internationally.

Initially the Club played at nearby courts such as Datchet until the Parish Council was persuaded to invest in its own tennis courts.

The Parish Council remain strong supporters of the game, enabling free and unlocked access to the Courts for all.
